A hungry dog

One of the most frequent questions that many new dog owners have is in regard to the type of dog food they should give their new pet. This question is easily understandable, considering the many different types and brands of dog foods available.

First, it’s important to understand that dogs have different nutritional needs based on their ages as well as their sizes. Puppies and lactating mothers need more nutrients than adult dogs and require a good brand of puppy food. As they grow older, adult dogs may require a special dog food diet blend that is aimed at keeping their weight under control.

Whenever possible, it’s always best to purchase the best dog foods you can afford for your pet. Foods that do not contain a good balance of vitamins and minerals may decrease the quality of your pet’s life and could actually cause them to become ill. Naturally, a savory dog food is preferred by dogs, however, a responsible pet owner will make sure they understand the major dog food differences and purchase the brand that represents the best mix possible.

While there are certainly a number of excellent dog food products on the market, many pet owners prefer to make their own natural home made dog food in order to ensure that their beloved pet receives the best nutrition possible. Below are some natural home made dog food recipes.
